"Aysha" A Monodrama about Anxiety.

I have Created what seems to look like a full fledged pretty dress, while in fact it is only separate pieces of assembled garments that are to be easily removed or torn. The entire costume looks hefty and solid; however, it is only made of very fragile fabrics. During the 40 minutes of the show, Aysha takes the audience into her world of trepidation, panic and anxiety, where they actually live the experience with her. Her costume represents people’s thoughts about her, her hurdles, pain, suffering & burdens. So a layer of this baggage (costume) is being taken off in every encounter with her fears. The whole idea was to stack up her issues on her and watch her get rid of each and every one of them separately. Starting with a big dress that is seemingly how people see her, until the very last layer that represents her reality. This layer is very light with ugly bandages underneath covering her wounds. The entire costume is a metaphor of this girl’s suffering & her attempts to conceal those wounds.
